Omri Porat is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, working at the intersection of musical traditions from around the world and contemporary instrumental expression. He began his journey in the jazz scene, and later expanded his musical language through travels and deep study of traditions from the Middle East, Europe, and India.
Omri performs regularly both in Israel and internationally, and has collaborated with leading artists such as Rijoiser, Avishai Cohen, Hadar Noiberg, Elad Levi, Abate Brihun, Yair Dalal, Ariel Zilber, and Shai Tsabari.
His work is characterized by a distinct and personal sound, shaped through a living encounter between cultures, experiences, and musical perspectives.
After completing his studies at the Academy of Music High School, Omri deepened his musical training through direct study with teachers and masters from various traditions: Andalusian music with Elad Levi, Persian music with Peretz Eliyahu, and Indian classical music with the master Abhishek Borkar. He also continued his jazz studies with teachers such as Shay Chen and Tomer Bar.
To date, Omri Porat has released four original albums: three as part of his previous project, Tiyul, and one additional album with his new trio. He has also participated in many other albums, including collaborations with Madhav Haridas and Mark Moshayev, with whom he produced and recorded two additional albums.
